The Coldplay concert was epic! (I stole the photo from Brianne Rayment)
I'm sure I've told some of you that I was going, but you may not have known it was so soon. Last night a bunch of us headed out to Rexall Place to hear the Howling Bells (from Sydney Australia), Snow Patrol and of course Coldplay.
A bunch of King's people were there. I saw Lorne Prins, bumped into Tim and Karly in the parking lot, saw Meredith Rayment and others. I went with the other boys house (Ben Folkman, Gresham Veldhuisen, Peter Dykstra and Matt Gelderman) to the concert because I got my ticket through Gresham. Joel and Brian went too along with some of the girls.
The tickets were in pairs, so me and Matt sat together. We probably ended up with the best seats out of our group because of how the show went. Although the main stage was located at the other end of us, we still had decent seats because we were in the second balcony along the edge with no one in front of us. Nearing the end of the show Coldplay made there way to a mini stage in the lower level in the back of the stadium. This was a 'stone lob' away from us as Matt put it while describing it to others. It was sweet!
The lights and quality of the show is comparable to the U2 concert I went to in 2005. A combination of the amount of people (many screaming teenage girls), lights, singing along, and good music made it...well epic.
Few favorite songs of the night: Politik, Viva La Vida (the whole CD basically), Fix You, Hardest Part, and of course The Scientist.
All in all an amazing show. I'm sorry if I made anyone jealous. Rachel and Jeff I have a cd for you guys to share (basically to put on the computer) that they were handing out at the end of the show. I managed to snag two of them. You can share it with Pete and Sarah too of course. Enjoy!

I forgot that you were going to the Coldpay concert..I didn't know it was so soon! Sounds like it was a pretty good show, that's cool that they performed at a little stage too near the back so that people who didn't have the greatest seats could still enjoy the show! Your lucky you were one of them, good music and good seats what more can you ask for!

ReplyDeleteI was offered two tickets to coldplay from Mr. Fernhout for the Washington concert at the Gorge, but I said no thanks because I was going to be in Alberta.
